Cognitive Services

Cognitive offers a wide range of services, from bike fit and specialist technique training to bike building. We cater to all abilities, so whether you're a beginner or experienced cyclist, Cognitive can improve your riding and make the most of your valuable time on the bike.

Bike Fit
The Cognitive bike fit philosophy is based on functional stability and posture. Typical bike fit analysis involves checking a riders position from one side of the bike and making necessary adjustments. A correct bike fit cannot be achieved by viewing a riders position from one side of the bike.

Cognitive analyses your position from all sides of the bike (indoors and on the the road) for the complete professional bike fit. It doesn't matter whether you're a weekend warrior or a serious racer, fact is you're only as good as the power that drives it.

When you're next out on the bike think about your posture and pedaling technique – are you experiencing any back, neck, knee or seat pain? If so, you're in need of a professional bike fit. I have over 20 years experience with all levels of cyclists, improving their enjoyment and performance on the bike. Don't take my word for it, click here to see testimonials from my clients.

One size does not fit all...

A bike fit on an indoor trainer or bike fit machine can provide the basics, but for a proper bike fit you need one on one analysis out on the road.

When a cyclists position on the bicycle is set up correctly the bike is propelled more efficiently and with greater comfort. The riders body is relaxed and bike handling improves.

Cyclists can be given a great deal of conflicting advice, usually well meaning, but which often results in a less than satisfactory position on the bike. To obtain a perfect fit it's vital to take into account the little idiosyncrasies of your own unique physical make up.

Cognitive Cycling works with individuals to assess flexibility, strength and balance. We adjust your bike to measure as poor set up causes pain and injury and does not allow you to ride efficiently or comfortably.

An optimal bike position reflects structural fitness and functional abilities. Contact Antosh to book in a bike fitting session and tune your position for optimum performance.

Testimonials

My passion is cycling and helping people achieve their maximum potential. Don't take my word for it, here's what some of my clients have to say...

For too long my focus on getting faster on the bike involved slogging out more miles, or going to the local bike shop to drool over that $300 ceramic bottom bracket for that extra wattage - however few people including me ever spend the time getting the basics right - a proper fitting on the bike, cleat placement, correct stem length, bar width, and getting the position right to start with, then focusing on how to train - not just more miles, but the right type of training - how to ride hills based on your body type, how to do interval training properly, the importance of recovery and making each ride count.

After spending a few sessions with Antosh getting the basics right with my bike, working on my core strength off the bike, and training correctly the results have been great - I am faster, stronger, and more importantly more comfortable on the bike - I recommend that anyone who wants to get better on the bike stop looking at spending money upgrading bits on their bike, and invest in some great advice, and getting the basics right - once the basics are well understood you have a great platform to build upon. The money and time spent with Antosh has been a great investment. Jeff Healey

My interest in competitive cycling has grown a great deal in the last year; as a result, I've found myself spending as much time as possible on the bike to improve my fitness. While this helped to improve my speed to a certain extent, I found myself questioning how wisely that time on the bike was being spent, and just how efficient my riding style really was.

Spending a couple of short sessions with Antosh has been nothing short of a breakthrough for me. His approach is completely tailored to each rider's experience and capabilities; working from the ground up, he analyzed my bike fit and technique and has completely overhauled both.

I now have a prescription of exercises and drills to practice on and off the bike that are giving my weaker points the attention that they deserved all along. The benefits have been immense, and immediately effective; with no changes to the volume and intensity of my training I'm riding faster, stronger, smoother and recovering more rapidly, and am feeling muscles that I never paid attention to before, getting a serious workout.

Continuing to refine my technique and training with Antosh is proving to be an exciting, motivating and enormously rewarding experience. I encourage anybody who is serious about improving their cycling performance to take advantage of his vast knowledge and completely personalized approach - except for anyone that races in the same grade as me, for obvious reasons! Cycling, by its nature, ought to be a simple pursuit…..after all, take one pushbike, turn the pedals over and before you know it, you’re motoring along like a pro.

The reality is a little like Golf, no mortal ever masters the bicycle and this never ending frustration is so much part of its allure and captivates an ever increasing audience every year.

So, where does the cyclist, hungry for knowledge, guidance and information go to improve every aspect of their enjoyment of the bike?

I have benefitted hugely from the life long experience Antosh brings to his flock of riders from bike fitting set up and maintenance, to maximising power output, to strengthening the muscle groups that actually power the bike to technique, breathing, diet and racing.

There’s nothing like one on one tuition that books and the web or even your favourite bike shop can’t provide and have watched my cycling improve beyond what I thought I was capable of a few short months ago. Josh Wrigley
